Pradosh Vrat Katha & Shiva Puja Vidhi
Mythological Story
The legend of Pradosh Vrat tells of a pious poor Brahmin widow who faithfully served an exiled prince. By regularly observing the sacred Pradosh fast and performing evening Shiva Puja during the twilight window (Pradosh Kaal), the prince regained his kingdom and the Brahmin family received boundless riches and joy.
Spiritual Significance
During Pradosh Kaal (45 minutes before and after sunset), Lord Shiva performs his divine joyful dance in Kailash. Worshipping Shiva at this time destroys poverty, removes ancestral doshas, and grants freedom from chronic grief.
Puja Vidhi & Celebration
Devotees fast throughout the day, take an evening bath, and perform Shiva Abhishekam with milk, honey, and bilva leaves while chanting the Rudrashtakam during sunset.
